New firmware is available for the DMS-500/550/600 network players and AiOS ‘all-in-one’ internet-connected system. Please be sure to read the “Updating” and “Control App” sections to ensure a proper and complete implementation.
DMS-500/550/600 Customers
This new firmware implements a new sign-in method to online music streaming services as well as some background enhancements to the firmware. Also, there are some enhanced features of the app, such as the ability to rearrange queue lists via drag and drop, Play Next function, and a few other additions.
AiOS customers
…how about a little Qobuz and enhanced MQA!
Big news for AiOS customers! In addition to the same enhancements as the DMS products above, AiOS now includes Qobuz Hi Rez streaming service. Stream lossless FLAC files up to 24 bit/192kHz from Qobuz with the Cary Streamer App as well as experience MQA in even more detail thanks to an updated MQA decoder.
Updating Firmware
Your Cary Audio player will prompt for firmware update when connected to the Internet. Confirm update and the process will automatically continue and finish. If not prompted invoke menu command ‘Firmware’ using IR remote control and check for update manually. Make sure you player is within local network with internet access. Do not press any buttons or execute other commands while update is executing. Refer to this video tutorial for in-depth Update process explanation.
Please note that due to major changes to the firmware we recommend factory resetting your player after updating. This will ensure glitch-free operations as it erases the memory storage which otherwise may contain stubs of older software.
After you have successfully updated the firmware, it is highly recommended to then do a Factory Reset from the handheld IR remote (Menu>>Reset). Once the factory reset is complete and your unit has booted up, pull the power cord and leave it unplugged for 5 minutes. Plug it back in and wait 2 minutes before turning the unit on again.
NOTE: You will have to reconnect to Wi-Fi (if you use Wi-Fi instead of ethernet) and your music streaming services. Additionally, any USB, SD, or PC Share drives will need to rescan. See this video tutorial if unsure how to re-enter wi-fi credentials.
Control Apps
VERY IMPORTANT! After you have done the update and factory reset of your DMS/AiOS, completely delete the Cary Streamer app from your phone or tablet then download the latest app called Cary Streamer 2.0.
